In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow In the bleak midwinter, long ago
Our God, heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain Heaven and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ
Enough for Him, whom cherubim, worship night and day A breast full of milk, and a mangerful of hay Enough for Him, whom angels fall down before The ox and us and camel which I adore Angels and archangels may have gathered there, Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air; But His mother only, in her maiden bliss, Worshipped the beloved with a kiss. What can I give Him, poor as I am If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb If I were a wise man, I would do my part Yet what can I give Him give my heart 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Written by: STEVEN JOHN ANDERSON, DP, ROBIN WOMPHREY, CLIFFORD DAVID MASTERSON : : : : Singer : : Sussan Boyle : : : : Click hereinbelow to enjoy the Song By : : Sussan Boyle & Sissel Kyrkjebo : : Video Live On the Occasion Of Christmas (2017) : : Also Showing Winter Landscape in South Norway – Arnt Mollan : Aerial View : : 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 https://youtu.be/Qv0yjz9R2TE 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓 Happy Christmas On the Christmas Eve Of 2021 : : : : Susan Boyle
Susan Magdalane Boyle (born 1 April 1961) is a Scottish singer who came to international public attention when she appeared as a contestant on the TV programme Britain’s Got Talent on 11 April 2009, singing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables. Her first album was released in November 2009 and debuted as the number one best-selling album on charts around the globe. Heart 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 it is yet another testament to his artistry and his unmatched skill in singing a story that reaches both heart and mind. A spiritual sensitivity and pure vocal prowess, that’s what it is .The lyrics in this traditional Christmas carol are based on a poem by the English poet Christina Rossetti (1830-1894).
Her poem was first published in 1872, and was titled, “A Christmas Carol.” In 1906, it was set to music by Gustav Holst for The English Hymnal. It has actually been set to music many times and in many ways, but the hymnal melody is the one used most often by vocal soloists.
The song has been recorded by an endless list of artists. Every performing musician must want this carol included in their Christmas repertoire. There were expected renditions and a few surprises. A few: Julie Andrews, King’s College Choir, Sissel, Tine Thing Helseth (trumpet), James Taylor, Paul Cardall, Susan Boyle, The Tabernacle Choir, Dan Fogelberg, Sarah McLachlan, YoYo Ma, Annie Lennox, Frida (ABBA), Orla Fallon, Indigo Girls, Moody Blues. The poem is used in its entirety. Artists and arrangers seem to pick and choose which lines they want to us . Bleak, windy, cold, etc. creates the visual of a physical setting .It must have been like on that wintry night when Christ was born.A beautiful voice is calming and reverent but purposeful, Wishing one and all , be completely blessed by this Carol . Amen . “In the Bleak Midwinter” As a Representative of Joy: This poem is written from the perspective of a young soul, who describes the momentous birth of Christ. She describes that Jesus was born on a cold night on a winter night, with strong winds and heavy snow. As she continues to describe the birth of Christ, she says that he did not appear in this world as a supreme being; instead, he chose a physically humble place to reign. She had painted a very realistic picture of those moments when angels and worshippers were gathered to get a glimpse and worship Him. The speaker finally speaks of her love for Him and decides to give her heart as a gift to Christ. Major Themes in “In the Bleak Midwinter”: Joy, mother’s love and nature are the major themes of the poem. The poem encapsulates the speaker’s love for God and the arrival of Jesus on the earth. She explains various characters including, Mary and angels. One can feel the purity of her love that she decides to give her heart as a gift to Jesus. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Alliteration: Alliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds in the same line such as the sound of /s/ in “Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow”. Enjambment: It means a thought, verse or clause does not come to an end at a line break; instead, it moves over the next line. The poet has used personification in second and third stanzas, “heaven and earth shall flee away” and “The ox and as and camel which adore.” Simile: It is a figure of speech used to compare an object or a person with something else to make the meanings clear to the readers. For example the words, “hard as iron”; “water like a stone” shows the harshness of the surroundings. Consonance: Consonance is the repetition of consonant sounds in the same line such as the sound of /d/ in “In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan” and the sounds of /m/ and /l/ in “Enough for Him, whom angels fall before”. Hyperbole: Hyperbole is a device used to exaggerate any statement for the sake of emphasis. For example, “Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain”. Poetic Devices refer to those techniques a poet uses to bring uniqueness in his text. The analysis of some of the poetic devices used in this poem is given below.

Etymology Ātman (Atma, आत्मा, आत्मन्) is a Sanskrit word which refers to “essence, breath. It is derived from the Proto-Indo-European word *h₁eh₁tmṓ (a root meaning “breath” with Germanic cognates: Dutch adem, Old High German atum “breath,” Modern German atmen “to breathe” and Atem “respiration, breath”, Old English eþian) . Soul કે innermost essence કહેવાના બદલે Real SELF વધુ અનુકૂળ આવે .soul, which includes consciousness but also the mental abilities of a living being, such as reason, character, feeling, consciousness, memory, perception and thinking. The seer is the absolute knower. Though pure, modifications are witnessed by him by coloring of intellect. The spectacle exists only to serve the purpose of the Atman.
— Yogasutra 2.19 – 2.20 : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Nyaya school of Hinduism, states that Atma is a proper object of human knowledge. It also states that Atman is a real substance that can be inferred from certain signs, objectively perceivable attributes.: : Ātman, body, senses, objects of senses, intellect, mind, activity, error, pretyabhava (after life), fruit, suffering and bliss are the objects of right knowledge. Desire, aversion, effort, happiness, suffering and cognition are the Linga (लिङ्ग, mark, sign) of the Ātman.
— Nyaya Sutra, I.1.9-10 : : : : : : : : : : : : :Nyayasutras posits that the sensory act of looking is different from perception and cognition–that perception and knowledge arise from the seekings and actions of Ātman. The Naiyayikas emphasize that Ātman has qualities, but is different from its qualities. For example, desire is one of many qualities of Ātman, but Ātman does not always have desire, and in the state of liberation, for instance, the Ātman is without desire. The knowledge of Ātman, to Vaiśeṣika Hindus, is another knowledge without any “bliss” or “consciousness” .. Unlike all other schools of Hinduism, Mimamsaka scholars considered ego and Atman as the same. Mimamsaka Hindus believed that what matters is virtuous actions and rituals completed with perfection, and it is this that creates merit and imprints knowledge on Atman, whether one is aware or not aware of Atman. Their foremost emphasis was formulation and understanding of laws/duties/virtuous life (dharma) and consequent perfect.Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism) sees the “spirit/soul/self” within each living entity as being fully identical with Brahman. The Advaita school believes that there is one soul that connects and exists in all living beings, regardless of their shapes or forms, and there is no distinction, no superior, no inferior, no separate devotee soul (Atman), no separate god soul (Brahman). The oneness unifies all beings, there is divine in every being, and that all existence is a single reality. In contrast, devotional sub-schools of Vedanta such as Dvaita (dualism) differentiate between the individual Atma in living beings, and the supreme Atma (Paramatma) as being separate.
Advaita Vedanta philosophy considers Atman as self-existent awareness, limitless and non-dual. To Advaitins, the Atman is the Brahman, the Brahman is the Atman, each self is non-different from the infinite. Atman is the universal principle, one eternal undifferentiated self-luminous consciousness, the truth .Human beings, in a state of unawareness of this universal self, see their “I-ness” as different from the being in others, then act out of impulse, fears, cravings, malice, division, confusion, anxiety, passions, and a sense of distinctiveness. To Advaitins, Atman-knowledge is the state of full awareness, liberation, and freedom that overcomes dualities at all levels, realizing the divine within oneself, the divine in others, and in all living beings; the non-dual oneness, that God is in everything, and everything is God. This identification of individual living beings/souls, or jiva-atmas, with the ‘one Atman’ is the non-dualistic Advaita Vedanta position.Dvaita Vedanta calls the Atman of a supreme being as Paramatman, and holds it to be different from individual Atman. Dvaita scholars assert that God is the ultimate, complete, perfect, but distinct soul, one that is separate from incomplete, imperfect jivas (individual souls). The Advaita sub-school believes that self-knowledge leads to liberation in this life, while the Dvaita sub-school believes that liberation is only possible in after-life as communion with God, and only through the grace of God (if not, then one’s Atman is reborn). God created individual souls, state Dvaita Vedantins, but the individual soul never was and never will become one with God; the best it can do is to experience bliss by getting infinitely close to God.Atman theory, particularly the Advaita Vedanta and Yoga versions, influenced the emergence of the theory of Ahimsa (non-violence against all creatures), culture of vegetarianism, and other theories of ethical, dharmic life. Freedom from anger, from excitement, from rage, from greed, from perplexity, from hypocrisy, from hurtfulness (from injury to others); Speaking the truth, moderate eating, refraining from calumny and envy, sharing with others, avoiding accepting gifts, uprightness, forgiveness, gentleness, tranquility, temperance, amity with all living creatures, yoga, honorable conduct, benevolence and contentedness – These virtues have been agreed upon for all the ashramas; he who, according to the precepts of the sacred law, practices these, becomes united with the Universal Self. – 1.8.23.6
— Knowledge of the Atman, Apastamba Dharma Sūtra, ~ 400 BCE Ahimsa : : : :the dharma codes of ancient Dharmasutras and later era Manu-Smriti. Ahimsa theory is a natural corollary and consequence of “Atman is universal oneness, present in all living beings. Atman connects and prevades in everyone. Hurting or injuring another being is hurting the Atman, and thus one’s self that exists in another body”. This conceptual connection between one’s Atman, the universal, and Ahimsa starts in Isha Upanishad, develops in the theories of the ancient scholar Yajnavalkya, and one which inspired Gandhi as he led non-violent movement against colonialism in early 20th century.
And he who sees everything in his atman, and his atman in everything, does not seek to hide himself from that. In whom all beings have become one with his own atman, what perplexity, what sorrow, is there when he sees this oneness? He [the self] prevades all, resplendent, bodiless, woundless, without muscles, pure, untouched by evil; far-seeing, transcendent, self-being, disposing ends through perpetual ages. : : : : Isha Upanishad hymn 6 – 8 .

The Jain word that comes closest to soul is jiva, which means a conscious, living being. For Jains body and soul are different things: the body is just an inanimate container – the conscious being is the jiva.
After each bodily death, the jiva is reborn into a different body to live another life, until it achieves liberation. When a jiva is embodied (i.e. in a body), it exists throughout that body and isn’t found in any particular bit of it.
Jains believe:
the soul exists forever each soul is always independent the soul is responsible for what it does the soul experiences the consequences of its actions the soul can become liberated from the cycle of birth and death not all souls can be liberated – some souls are inherently incapable of achieving this the soul can evolve towards that liberation by following principles of behaviours : : Individuality Each jiva is an individual quite independent of other jivas. This individuality , is different from one of the Hindu Vedanta schools of belief where each soul is part of a single ultimate reality.
Jains believe that there are an infinite number of souls in the universe – every living thing, no matter how primitive, is a jiva – and at any given time many of these jivas are not embodied.
Souls have not fallen from perfection For Jains, each jiva has been associated with matter, and involved in the cycle of birth and death since the beginning of time. They did not in some way fall from perfection to become involved in this cycle.
Some jivas, through their own efforts, have become liberated and escaped from the cycle.
Liberated souls Some jivas have achieved liberation from the cycle of samsara or reincarnation and are not reborn. They are called siddhas.
Liberated jivas don’t have physical bodies; they possess infinite knowledge, infinite vision, infinite power, and infinite bliss – in effect they have become perfect beings.
This makes liberated jivas the beings most like gods in Jain belief, but they are very different from the conventional idea of gods:
they do not create or destroy it’s not possible to have any sort of relationship with them they do not intervene in the universe they did not set down the laws of the universe they do not make any demands on human beings they don’t reward human beings in any way, or forgive their sins, or give them grace human beings don’t owe their existence to them humans can only use them as an inspiration So when Jains worship ‘gods’ they do so to set before themselves the example of perfection that they want to follow in their own lives. Every jiva has the possibility of achieving liberation, and thus of becoming a god, and each soul is involved in a process of evolving towards that state. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : A Bhakti Geet as posted hereinabove narrates such experience of a Godly devoted Soul very confident of becoming a God like existence in the Other World and hence expressive of going Home of This God we which is stated in the lines : : ” પરમાત્મા થી રંગાશે મારો આત્મા : પરમાત્મા બની જાશે મારો આત્મા ” This lucky and deserving Soul realises the joy of seeing actual Godly existence and is too exultant in meeting face to face and overjoyed in becoming a God and idol of God wherefrom it wouldn’t have to interfere in the lives and events of the world where it had lived a full human life . This is the end of the process of evolving towards the state of achieving liberation after the complete renunciation from the worldly pleasure and affairs andthe whole span of life right from birth , life with senses and an Ultimate truth of death which would not have to be repeated as life after life . The direct perceptions of this state of becoming God is revealed in the eulogy or hymn of this state of the beautiful soul which is sung by the singers with joyous faces with smiles .
Classification of Saṃsāri Jīvas (Transmigrating Souls) as per Jainism.Depiction of Siddha Shila as per Jain cosmology which is abode of infinite SiddhasIn Jainism, moksha is the highest and the noblest objective that a soul should strive to achieve. In fact, it is the only objective that a person should have; other objectives are contrary to the true nature of soul. With the right view, knowledge and efforts all souls can attain this state. That is why Jainism is also known as mokṣamārga or the “path to liberation”.
According to the Sacred Jain Text, Tattvartha sutra: Owing to the absence of the cause of bondage and with the functioning of the dissociation of karmas the annihilation of all karmas is liberation.
— Tattvārthsūtra (10-2) : : : : : : : : : : : : : Bhavya souls are those souls who have faith in mokṣa and hence will make some efforts to achieve liberation. This potentiality or quality is called bhavyata. However, bhavyata itself does not guarantee mokṣa, as the soul needs to expend necessary efforts to attain it. On the other hand, abhavya souls are those souls who cannot attain liberation as they do not have faith in mokṣa and hence never make any efforts to attain it
The path to liberation : : : :: : : : : According to Jainism, purification of soul and liberation can be achieved through the path of three jewels: Samyak darśana (Correct View), meaning faith, acceptance of the truth of soul (jīva); Samyak jnana (Correct Knowledge), meaning undoubting knowledge of the tattvas;and Samyak charitra (Correct Conduct), meaning behavior consistent with the Five vows. Jain texts often add samyak tap (Correct Asceticism) as a fourth jewel, emphasizing belief in ascetic practices as the means to liberation (moksha). The four jewels are called moksha marg. According to Jain texts, the liberated pure soul (Siddha) goes up to the summit of universe (Siddhashila) and dwells there in eternal bliss.
According to Jainism, the Ratnatraya or “three Gems”, samyagdarśana (correct perception), samyagjñāna (right knowledge) and samyakchāritra (right conduct), together constitute the mokṣamarga or the path to liberation. According to Acharya KundaKunda’s Samayasara: Belief in the nine substances as they are is right faith (samyagdarśana). Knowledge of these substances without doubt, delusion or misapprehension, is right knowledge (samyagjñāna). Being free from attachment etc. is right conduct (samyakcāritra). These three, together, constitute the path to liberation.
Samyak Darsana or rational perception is the rational faith in the true nature of every substance of the universe.
Samyak Caritra or rational conduct is the natural conduct of a (soul) living being. It consists in following austerities, engaging in right activities and observance of vows, carefulness and controls. Once a soul secures samyaktva, mokṣa is assured within a few lifetimes. The fourteen stages on the path to liberation or Spiritual Developments are , called Gunasthāna. These are:. Gunasthāna (Stages on the Path) Meaning 1. Mithyātva The stage of wrong believer (Gross ignorance) 2. Sasādana Downfall from right faith 3. Misradrsti Mixed right and wrong belief 4. Avirata samyagdrsti Vowless right belief 5. Deśavirata The stage of partial self-control 6. Pramattasamyata Slightly imperfect vows 7. Apramatta samyata Perfect vows (Mahavratas) 8. Apūrvakaraņa New thought-activity 9. Anivāttibādara-sāmparāya Advanced thought-activity (Passions are still occurring) 10. Sukshma samparaya Slightest delusion 11. Upaśānta-kasāya Subsided delusion 12. Ksīna kasāya Destroyed delusion 13. Sayoga kevali Omniscience with vibration (destruction of all inimical karmas) 14. Ayoga kevali The stage of omniscience without any activity Those who pass the last stage are called siddha and become fully established in Right Faith, Right Knowledge and Right Conduct. Nirvāna means final release from the karmic bondage. When an enlightened human, such as an Arihant or a Tirthankara, extinguishes his remaining aghatiya karmas and thus ends his worldly existence, it is called nirvāna. Technically, the death of an Arhat is called their nirvāṇa, as he has ended his worldly existence and attained liberation. Moksha (liberation) follows nirvāṇa. However, the terms moksa and nirvana are often used interchangeably in the Jain texts. An Arhat becomes a siddha, the liberated one, after attaining nirvana. Liberated soul : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : A liberated soul dwells in Siddhashila with infinite faith, infinite knowledge, infinite perception, and infinite perfection. According to the Jain text, Puruşārthasiddhyupāya:
Having achieved the ultimate goal, knowing everything that needs to be known, and enjoying eternal and supreme bliss, the Omniscient, Effulgent Soul, rests permanently in the Highest State (of liberation).
— Puruşārthasiddhyupāya: : : : : : : : The Five Vows (articulated in the foundational work, the Tattvartha Sutra):
Ahimsa (non-violence) Satya (speaking the truth) Asteya (non-stealing) Brahmacharya (chastity or faithfulness to a spouse) Aparigraha (non-attachment) The Five Vows direct one’s thoughts and behavior since it is believed that, as one thinks, so will one do. It is not enough, therefore, to simply abstain from violence or lying or stealing; one must not even think of such things. If one adheres to this discipline, one will escape the cycle of samsara and achieve liberation. Once one has accomplished this, one becomes a tirthankara, a “ford builder” (as in, one who builds a ford or bridge over a river) who can show others how to securely cross the currents of life by shedding desire, freeing one’s self from ignorance, and refusing the temptations of the world. In Jainism, suffering is caused by ignorance of the true nature of reality, and liberation is achieved through spiritual awakening and then living the truth one has realized.
[Verse 1] There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold And she’s buying a stairway to Heaven When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for Ooh, ooh, and she’s buying a stairway to Heaven There’s a sign on the wall, but she wants to be sure ‘Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings In a tree by the brook, there’s a songbird who sings Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
[Chorus] Ooh, it makes me wonder Ooh, makes me wonder
[Verse 2] There’s a feeling I get when I look to the west And my spirit is crying for leaving In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees And the voices of those who stand looking
[Chorus] Ooh, it makes me wonder Ooh, really makes me wonder. [Verse 3] And it’s whispered that soon if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason And a new day will dawn for those who stand long And the forests will echo with laughter
[Chorus] Oh-oh-oh-oh-woahhh
[Verse 4] If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed, now It’s just a spring clean for the May queen Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There’s still time to change the road you’re on
[Chorus] And it makes me wonder Ohh, woah. : : : : : : : : : : : (Verse V) : : Your head is humming and it won’t go, in case you don’t know The piper’s calling you to join him Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow? And did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind? Guitar (Solo) : : : : : : : : : : : :(Bridge) : : : : And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll (Outro) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ; And she’s buying a stairway to Heaven : “Stairway to Heaven” is one of Led Zeppelin’s most famous recordings, with many considering it the greatest rock song of all time. It tells the story of a greedy woman who is overly optimistic about her unpromising future.
The song resonated with young listeners, opening up a door to a different realm of spirituality and transporting them into a more mystical view of life. The vagueness of the lyrics also allows listeners to interpret the song in their own way, adding to the magic and mystery of the track. What have the artists said about the song?
Jimmy Page stated that:
[The song] crystallized the essence of the band. It had everything there and showed us at our best. It was a milestone. Every musician wants to do something of lasting quality, something which will hold up for a long time. We did it with ‘Stairway.’
He later told Rolling Stone in 2012:
[The intro riff] was written on an acoustic guitar. I was trying things at home, shunting this piece up with that piece. I had the idea of the verses, the link into the solo and the last part. It was this idea of something that would keep building and building. I didn’t have any of Robert’s lyrics, only a sort of melody that related to the guitar parts I had. […] Originally, there was another guitar part that I had done for the ending. It was like the opening, a bit different. But I never tagged it on. The statement was there. How long did it take to write “Stairway to Heaven”?
Jimmy Page started writing the music in May 1970. Robert Plant wrote 80% of the lyrics a few weeks later. Recording for the song began in December, and finished in the New Year. What has the band said about the lyrics?
In a March 2018 interview with the Australian talk show The Project, Robert Plant said the conjecture around “Stairway To Heaven” is “hysterical” due to the abstract nature of the song, adding “I didn’t think anything was going to be that big.”
Plant also revealed that back in the ‘70s he could never remember the lyrics for “Stairway To Heaven.” To help him out, the band’s manager would hold up cards with the words during their performances.
I know it’s a long song, okay? I also know I had a little bit of trouble remembering lyrics, back in ’72, ’73. Our manager, who was quite a formidable personality…He’d come to the front of the stage in the middle of it all and he’d have the lyrics just going…Anyway, it was very funny. I can’t remember what verse goes where. I know there’s something about ‘bustle in the hedgerow’ and then all that stuff.
He also compared the scenario to the video for Bob Dylan’s 1965 song “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” in which Dylan holds up cue cards with key song phrases. What has the media said about the song?
Rolling Stone ranked it as Led Zeppelin’s #2 song, saying:
The signature power ballad on Led Zeppelin IV towers over Seventies rock like a monolith. From the Elizabethan ambience of its acoustic introduction to Plant’s lyrical mysticism to Page’s spiraling solo, the eight-minute song is a masterpiece of slow-reveal intensity that withholds power, then ascends skyward like nothing in rock. ‘It speeds up like an adrenaline flow,’ said Page, whose on-the-spot improvisation was the perfect complement to Plant’s evocation of excess and salvation. ‘It was a milestone for us.’. Which font did they use for the original print of the lyrics?
Page found the typeface in an old arts and crafts magazine called The Studio, dated late 19th Century.
He just found it interesting and arranged for someone to create a whole alphabet . He did it as a tribute to a friend who died in a car accident. In the late ’90s, the radio trade magazine Monday Morning Replay reported that “Stairway” was still played 4,203 times a year by the 67 largest AOR (album-oriented rock) radio stations in the US. The band were sued for copyright in 2014 over claims they had stolen the song’s opening riff from Taurus, by a US band called Spirit. … Stairway To Heaven regularly appears on lists of the greatest rock songs ever written, and the case has been one of the music industry’s most closely-watched disputes. Its lyrics are rich with cryptic references to allegories and mysticism, offering far more than the simplistic satanism that many detractors argue is its main theme. … And it is that Celtic esotericism and spirituality that truly comes through in the lyrics – no more, no less. What is the Backwards message to the Stairway to the Heaven , Song ? ? ? ? ?The alleged message, which occurs during the middle section of the song (“If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed now…”) when played backward, was purported to contain the Satanic references: “Here’s to my sweet Satan / The one whose little path would make me sad whose power is Satan, / He’ll give you, … When there is a bustle in your hedgegrow ? ? ? ? ? If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed now, It’s just a spring clean for the May queen. There’s still time to change the road you’re on . In Bridge section , a line comes : What does our shadows taller than our soul mean ? ? ? ? ? And as we wind on down the road” The road is the metaphor for life. “our shadows taller than our soul” We are always getting closer to the end of our lives. That is the sun is setting and casting long shadows. What is the “May Queen” ? ? ? ? ? The May Queen was the Pagan goddess of spring. In the mythology, she would be awakened each year and fight off the Winter Queen, banishing her for several months so that nature could blossom and provide its bounty. What does “rock not to roll” mean ???To be a rock and not to roll is to stand by your convictions. To explain further to rock not to roll is to be firm in what you believe. So that you won’t be easily swayed You’re opinions , beliefs won’t be that easy to roll over. 🌹🌹🌹 The song has three sections, each one progressively increasing in tempo and volume. The song begins in a slow tempo with acoustic instruments (guitar and recorders) before introducing electric instruments. The final section is an uptempo hard rock arrangement highlighted by Page’s guitar solo (considered by many to be one of the greatest ever accompanying Plant’s vocals that end with the plaintive a cappella line: “And she’s buying a stairway to heaven.”
“Stairway to Heaven” was voted number three in 2000 by VH1 on its list of the 100 Greatest Rock Songs, and was placed at number 31 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It was the most requested song on FM radio stations in the United States in the 1970s, despite never having been commercially released as a single there. In November 2007, through download sales promoting Led Zeppelin’s Mothership release, “Stairway to Heaven” reached number 37 on the UK Singles Chart. : : COMPOSITIONS : “Stairway to Heaven” is described as progressive rock, folk rock and hard rock. The song consists of several distinct sections, beginning with a quiet introduction on a finger-picked six-string guitar and four recorders in a Renaissance music style (ending at 2:15) and gradually moving into a slow electric middle section (2:16–5:33), then a long guitar solo (5:34–6:44), before the faster hard rock final section (6:45–7:45), ending with a short vocals-only epilogue. Plant sings the opening, middle and epilogue sections in his mid vocal range, but sings the hard rock section in his higher range which borders on falsetto. : : : : 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Appreciation Thoughts for the Song : “Stairway to Heaven” , Compiled by V Jayaraj . Going Home, Going Home, I am going home. Quiet like some still day. I am going home! It’s not far just close by, through an open door. Work all done, care laid by. Never fear no more! Mother’s there expecting me! Fathers waiting too! Many faces gathered there! All the friends I knew. I’m just going Home! No more pain! No more fear! No more stumbling by the way, no more longing for the day! Going to run no more! Morning star lights the way, restless dreams are gone. Shawdows gone! Break of day! Real life has begun. There’s no break theres no end! Just living on. Wide awake with a smile! Going on and on! (Going on and on) Going Home, Going Home! I am going home! Shawdows gone, break of day! Real life has begun! The lyrics was written by one of Dvorak’s pupils William Arms Fisher (1861-1948) , who adapted and arranged the Largo Theme and added his own words in “the form of a Negro Spirituals” , and then this song became known as “Spiritual Song” after the death y American President “Franklin D Roosevelt” , in the year 1940 . 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 The Largo with its haunting English Horn Solo is , outpouring of Dvarak’s own longing for home with something of the loneliness of far off Prairie horizon , the faint memory of the Red Man’s bygone days , and a “Sense of Tragedy” , of the black man as it sings in “His Spirituals”. Deeper still is a moving expression of that “Nostalgia” Of The Soul , all human beings feel . In its Opening , it spontaneously suggests ” Going Home , Going Home ” and it is” Natural Enough ” , and that the lines that follows the melody , should take the form of a” Negro Spirituals ” Accords with the genesis of the Symphony . . .
